Ballet and Jazz Dance are greatly enjoyed by pupils of all ages, from pre-prep through to seniors.

The children are taught by a highly-qualified teacher of Dance.

Ballet

The ISTD Cecchetti Ballet syllabus is taught, which allows pupils the choice of preparing for examinations or to attend the class for recreation.

Cecchetti Ballet gives students an all round experience, concentrating on technique, performance and most of all enjoyment.  It has a focus on storytelling for the  younger children, establishing a strong basic technique which will develop as they grow through the school.  This teaches them discipline and enhances their confidence.

Our younger pupils have already displayed their talent for Dance by successfully passing their Standard I Cecchetti Ballet Examination with Distinction.

Jazz Dance

In Jazz Dance the focus is on performance, quality and style. Jazz technique is taught through fun exercises and routines which develop strength and flexibility, which enhances entertaining dance and choreography. A range of funky music is used and routines are often performed to the rest of the school.  This is a really fun class and enjoyed by all.
