All Teachers
All teachers at Cottesmore are expected to be involved in the care and guidance of the pupils. It is universally understood that their attitudes and behaviour will directly reflect in the attitudes and behaviour of the pupils. They will refer any pastoral problems to the correct personnel within the school.
Counsellor
With agreement from the parents in certain circumstances the School Counsellor will be made available to pupils.
Designated Safeguarding Lead
All staff should refer to the Safeguarding Policy and to the Designated Safeguarding Lead for advice on Safeguarding matters.
Form Tutor
Pupils meet their Form Tutor in the morning after Chapel and afternoon during prep. They help pupils to organise their day. Form teachers also deliver PSHE. Form Tutors will refer any pastoral problems to the correct personnel within the school.
Head and Head's Wife
The Head and the Head's Wife are readily available for pupils and will take on serious pastoral concerns.
Independent Listener
Pupils may call the Independent Listener, who is independent of the running of the school. The telephone number is available on the Happiness Charter which is posted by the telephones and most rooms in the school.
Nurse and Matrons
Nurse and the matrons live on site, so they are always available for the pupils. They will be both upstairs and downstairs.
Member of Staff in Charge of Discipline
The Member of Staff in Charge of Discipline, who happens to be the Deputy Head, will take pupils through sanctions. If necessary, he will talk to and coach individuals on behaviour .
Pastoral Tutor
Pupils meet their Pastoral Tutor on Tuesday mornings at 8.45am after Chapel Line-up. They help pupils to talk about how they feel. Pastoral Tutors will refer any pastoral problems to the correct personnel within the school.
House Master/ Mistress
The Pupils meet their House Master/ Mistress on Saturday mornings at 8.45am after Chapel Line-up. They encourage pupils to be supportive and loyal. House Masters/ Mistresses will spot trend in behaviour and seek to advise both pupils, the Head and the Master in Charge of Discipline. Set Master/ Mistress will refer any problems to the correct personnel within the school.
